Getting a video script, in three steps
- Say the topic, length and audience: What the video is about, how many minutes or seconds, who watches, and whether you are on camera or voice only. With no length it assumes five minutes.
- A script split by time: Choose from three hooks for the first five seconds. The body comes split as 0:00, 0:30 and so on, in two columns: what you say and what is on screen. Five titles and a description come too.
- Read it aloud and fix it: Read the script aloud once; where your tongue trips, say "make this line how people talk". Then record, and print the script with the "PDF / Print" button if you need it.
What happens when you record without a script
You switch on the camera and start talking, and three minutes later realise the main point was never said. Start again, slip again. In the edit, half the video is "so", "um" and silence. And because nothing happened in the first seconds, viewers left right there.
With a written script you know what to say and show at each second. You record fewer takes, the edit is shorter, and viewers get a reason to stay to the end.
Rules for a video script: four parts
- Hook, first five seconds: the problem, a surprising fact, or the result shown first; a long greeting before anything happens loses many viewers there
- The promise: one line on what the viewer gets by the end, and why to stay
- The body: step by step, each part thirty seconds to a minute, with what is on screen beside it
- Close, call to action: one request only: subscribe, ask in the comments, or the order link
Two columns: what you say and what you show
A good script has the spoken words on the left and the picture on the right: a close-up, the product in hand, text on screen or a drawing on the board. Even shooting alone you know in advance which shots you need, and in the edit, where each goes.
The script also marks the point mid-video where viewers usually drop off, and how to hold them there, like a question or a hint of what comes next.
Reels and short videos need a different script
Reels, Shorts and TikTok last fifteen to sixty seconds, so there is no introduction: the hook in the first second, one point, and a one-line ask. Give the length in seconds, like "a 30-second reel", and say it will be vertical.
For an ad script you give the price, the offer's last day and how to order yourself; otherwise the AI leaves those blank.
Titles, description and thumbnail text with the script

Yes. Say "in everyday speech, keep English words where needed". For a fully English script, write your request in English and the script comes in English.
How long is the script, and how many words a minute?
At a natural pace people speak roughly 100 to 150 words a minute. The AI splits the script by time; read it aloud to see how long it takes you, and if it runs over say "bring it down to two minutes".
