Three steps to get a sum solved
- Give the sum: Type it, or press the picture button beside the box and add a photo. Keep one or two sums per photo, in good light with the page straight.
- Say the class and what you want: Which class, which chapter, and whether you want the steps explained, not only the answer. Ask for the textbook method and it follows that.
- Check it, then work it yourself: Compare with the answer key. Where you are lost, write "explain step 3 more simply"; then close the book and do it once on your own.
Stuck on a sum at night, with nobody to ask
One homework sum will not come out, the answer key gives only the answer, not how. The teacher can be asked next week, and a photo in a Facebook group gets a reply hours later, with no explanation.
Give the chat the sum and the working arrives at once, with steps, and wherever you are lost you can ask again, as often as you need. There is no shame in asking and nobody scolds.
Solving from a photo: make sure it can be read
- Press the "Attach a screenshot or image" button beside the message box and add a photo from the camera or gallery; one message can carry several
- Shoot under good light, without shadows, with the page straight
- Keep only the sum you want in the frame, or write which number it is in the photo
- Unclear handwriting can be misread; check at the start of the working that the sum was copied right
- Do not send a whole chapter or every exercise at once; one or two sums at a time gives better results
Easy ways to type a sum
- Fractions: 3/4, or (x + 1)/(x - 2)
- Powers and squares: x^2 or x², cubes: x^3
- Square roots: √25, or write "the square root of 25"
- Multiply and divide: × and ÷, or * and / if you cannot find them
- For geometry, describe the figure in words, like "in triangle ABC, AB = AC and angle A = 50 degrees"; a photo of the figure is even better
Why to check an AI's maths working
The AI writes a wrong answer as confidently as a right one. A slip in the middle of a long calculation, one symbol in a photo misread, or a method other than the textbook's can all happen. So check every solution against the answer key; if it does not match, write "the answer does not match, the book says this" and it looks again.
And the real point: there is no chat in the exam hall. Copy the working and the same sum will stop you again in the exam. Understand the steps, then close the book and do a similar sum on your own.
Do I need to install a maths solver app?
