How do I design a mahfil poster on my phone, with the speakers' names?
Type the mahfil's name, the date and weekday, the time, the place, the organiser and the speakers' names with their titles in Bangla. The AI lays out the poster and every name is set in a real Bengali font, spelt exactly as you typed it. Then download the PNG for Facebook or the press. AI cannot draw Arabic calligraphy reliably, so Arabic appears only if you type it.
Three steps to a mahfil poster
- Type every detail of the mahfil: Its name, how many days, the date and weekday, after Asr or after Maghrib, the place, and the speakers with their titles, in order.
- Set the speakers' order and size: When the poster appears, say: "make the main speaker's name the biggest", "move the president's name down". Read every name again.
- Download and start spreading the word: Download the PNG, post it on the mosque's Facebook page, send it to local WhatsApp groups, and take it to a press if you need prints.
One wrong speaker name ruins a mahfil poster
People read a mahfil poster for the speakers' names. One wrong letter, or "Maulana" printed where it should say "Mufti", embarrasses the speaker and the organiser alike, and after a thousand copies nothing can be changed. An AI picture is worse: the Bengali names break into unreadable scribbles.
Here the names are not drawn; they are set in a font like typed text, exactly as you wrote them. Still, check each spelling against what the speaker sent you before printing, and add a name only once the speaker has confirmed.
What goes on a mahfil poster, and in what order
- The mahfil's name at the top. "Tafsirul Quran Mahfil", "Islamic Jalsa", "Annual Waz Mahfil". For a multi-day mahfil, put "three-day" small above the name.
- The main speaker largest. Then the special speaker, then the rest. Type each title (Maulana, Mufti, Hafez, Shaikh) and one line of introduction, like which madrasa they head.
- The president and chief guest in their own box. Squeeze everyone into one line and nobody can tell who is who.
- Date, weekday and time. "Monday 12 January, after Asr". For a Hijri date, type it yourself too.
- The place and the organiser. The field or mosque, the village, the upazila. At the bottom, "organised by" and "with the support of", and one line if there is a screened space for women.
The honest word on Arabic calligraphy
Many people want fine Arabic calligraphy at the top, like the Bismillah. Picture models cannot write Arabic letters properly either: it looks Arabic, but the letters are wrong or meaningless. Nobody wants that with words of the Quran, so we do not offer drawn Arabic calligraphy on this poster.
For an Arabic line, type it in Arabic yourself; it is set in a font as text, not drawn as a picture. After downloading, have an alim check that the letters joined correctly. If they did not, drop the Arabic line or write its meaning in Bangla.
Waz, iftar, milad and dua mahfil posters differ
Waz mahfil and jalsa. Most common in winter, after the harvest. The speaker and how many nights it runs are the whole news. For a night mahfil, write "after Isha".
Iftar mahfil. In 2027 Ramadan is expected to begin in the first part of February, subject to the moon. Which day of Ramadan, how long the talk before iftar, and who is invited (neighbours, members, orphans) are enough.
Milad mahfil. Often held for a shop or office opening, a new house or an aqiqah. Make the occasion large, with the date and a line like "tabarak will be served".
Dua mahfil. For a death anniversary, someone's recovery, or exam candidates. Keep the colours quiet, white and dark green; type the deceased's name and the prayer line exactly.
Sizes for mahfil banners, the stage and the gate
- Facebook poster for a mahfil: square 1:1. Keep the speaker's name large enough to read on a phone.
- Story and WhatsApp status: tall 9:16; post it again the night before with "tonight".
- Wall poster: A3 or A4 for printing, upright. People read bazaar walls while walking, so make the date bold.
- Stage backdrop and gate welcome banner: give the size in feet, like "12 by 4 feet". Ask the press how large a file they need. Wide shapes are covered on the banner page.
The mahfil invitation card and letter
Guests of honour and speakers are invited separately. A small card carries a polite two-line invitation, the mahfil's name, date, time and place, in the poster's colours and pattern. Ask in the chat and it writes the invitation wording too. More on cards is on the invitation card page.

Is mahfil poster design free?
The design is free. You get up to 400,000 free AI Token a day, and a poster, a stage banner and an invitation card usually fit inside it. No psd or plp file to hunt for.
A text-free background picture, like a mosque dome, a crescent or a green pattern, is free up to 20 a day. An HD picture for a large stage banner costs 2,500 premium Token each. Printing is paid to the press; we do not print.
