The site is live, so what now
For many people the day after going live is the most disappointing. You put the link on Facebook, a few people open it, but not one call comes. Most of the time the reason is very small: the site still has a sample number in it, or the link shows a grey box with no picture when shared, or the customers who come to your shop do not know the site exists.
The five jobs below fix all three problems. All of them are done from the site manager, need no AI, cost no Token, and are free on every plan. Where to open the site manager and how is in the site manager guide.
1. Your real number in place of the sample number
When the AI builds a site, it does not know your real number, so it puts in a sample number. If a customer calls that number, nobody will pick up.
In the site manager, write your phone, WhatsApp, email and address once and save. Everywhere the sample number is on the site, your real number goes in: in the text, on the "Call" button and in the WhatsApp link. You can also see there which places still have the sample.
2. The floating WhatsApp button
In Bangladesh, most orders start with a WhatsApp message. When a WhatsApp number is given, a small green button floats in the corner of the site, wherever the visitor is on the page. One tap and a chat with you opens.
The button is on by default. If you do not want it, you can turn it off in the site manager.
3. Logo and colours, made your shop's own
If you do not like the logo the AI made, pick another design, or give your own logo image. Every place on the site that has the logo, and the small icon on the browser tab, changes together.
Colours and fonts are changed from the same place. When the colour of your shop signboard and the colour of the site are the same, customers see at a glance that this is your shop. More on design is here: A good-looking site in the first build.
4. Check the preview before you share
When you put the link on Facebook or WhatsApp, a small card shows: a picture, a title and a two-line description. Searching on Google shows almost the same thing. If the card is not good, people do not open the link.
In the site manager you can see before sharing how the card will look. If the title is too long, Google cuts it off, and that is also flagged there, so you can fix it before you share.
5. A QR code in your shop
The customer who came into your shop and bought is the person most likely to order online next time. Download the site's QR code from the site manager, print it, and put it on the cash counter, on the delivery packet or on a business card. Point a phone camera at it and the site opens.
If you run a restaurant, you can also make a separate menu for the same job: a restaurant QR menu.
What next
Once these five are done, the site is really useful to customers. The next step is taking orders, payment and courier, and that whole path is in the shop web app post.
The easy start to taking money is on this same page: if you put your bKash, Nagad and Rocket numbers just below the shop details, a payment box appears on the order page, and the customer's TrxID comes along with the order. The details are in the post on online payment on your site. And on a site with lifetime hosting or a plan, turning on "phone notification for orders" above the inbox means you get a notice on your phone as soon as an order comes in.
Questions and answers
Do I have to build again with AI to put in my real number? No. Write the number in the site manager and save, and your number goes in where the sample numbers were. No AI is needed and no Token is charged.
Does the WhatsApp button come on every site? It comes when a WhatsApp number is given, and it is on by default. If the site already has a floating WhatsApp button of its own, a second one is not added. If you do not want it, you can turn it off in the site manager.
Where does my own logo image go if I give one? Everywhere the site has a logo, and in the small icon on the browser tab too. If you want to change it again later, you can change it from the same place.
Do I have to buy a pack for these jobs? No. Putting in the number, the WhatsApp button, changing the logo and colours, the share preview and the QR code are all available even on a free account.
Where do I put my bKash number on the site? In the "Business and look" tab of the site manager, in "bKash, Nagad and Rocket numbers", just below the shop details. When you save, the number, a copy button and a box to write the TrxID appear on the order page. No AI is needed and no Token is charged.
Can I do these if the site is not live yet? Yes. The changes show in the preview straight away. If the site is live, they also go onto the live site as soon as you save.
