Running a shop online: website, orders, payment and courier
In Bangladesh most small shops start online with a Facebook page, and the first few orders come from there. The trouble starts after that: typing the same price answer twenty times a day, orders getting lost in the inbox, copying addresses by hand into the courier's form, and not knowing how much profit you made at the end of the month.
The posts on this page follow that path step by step: when you need a site beside your page, where orders from the site are collected, how bKash or card money comes straight to you, how orders go to Steadfast and Pathao in one file, and how to keep the shop's accounts on your phone.
Start with the hub post, which has the whole picture in one place, from an order arriving to the courier. Then open the post for the step where you are stuck.
Every post on this subject
- A web app for your shop: from first order to courier (hub): The whole path from orders in comments and hand-copied addresses to one list, one status and a courier file.
- The first five jobs after your site goes live, without AI: The site is live. Now customers must be able to reach you. Number, WhatsApp button, logo, share preview and QR code: five minutes of work.
- Facebook page or website, which is right for a shop: What a page does and does not do, what a site adds, and when you need both.
- Cash memo, money receipt and invoice: what to write: Which one to give when, why the serial number matters, and the mistakes that make the accounts not match later.
- Where orders from your site are stored, and how to handle them: The inbox, email alerts, three states and CSV. The easiest arrangement to stop losing orders.
- Making a QR menu for a restaurant, with no printing cost: The printing cost of a paper menu and the trouble of changing prices, both go away. What you need and what it cannot do.
- Uploading orders to Steadfast and Pathao without typing by hand: A file in one click, but the two couriers have different rules. Which boxes you must fill yourself, and why.
- Order confirmation SMS, and when "sent" is a lie: Why you need your own gateway, how to set it up, and why a customer's phone gets nothing even when the gateway says success.

- A serial or appointment page for doctors and parlours: You save time on phone calls, and the paper with serials on it cannot get lost. What to put on the page and where requests go.
- Online payments on your site: bKash and cards, straight to your account: A payment box for bKash, Nagad or Rocket numbers, or a gateway link. The money goes straight to your account, we are not in the middle.
- How to write a Facebook post for your shop: posts and captions: Put the useful line first, show the price, end with one clear step. The rest is posting regularly.
- How to show your shop's address and opening hours in search: An address written on the page is not the same as telling Google the address. What the difference is, and why this is the cheapest SEO for a small shop.
- Steadfast or Pathao: which courier costs less, by weight and district: Pathao is cheaper at 500 g and around Dhaka, Steadfast above 1 kg and district to district. 2026 delivery charges by the kilo, from each courier's own page.
- How AI helps a small business: Which shop tasks AI really saves time on, where it does not, and what it actually costs.
Questions and answers
Is a Facebook page enough for a shop, or do I need a website?
Start with the page. When a few orders come in every day and you keep typing the same answers, it is time to add a site. A site keeps prices, address and an order form in one place, and it shows up on Google. A page does none of these.
How do I get paid when an order comes from the site?
Two ways. With cash on delivery, the courier collects the money. To take it in advance, add your own bKash, Nagad or Rocket number in the site manager: the order form gets a payment box with a place for the TrxID, free on every plan. For cards, or your own bKash Merchant or gateway link, you need Business. Either way the money goes straight to you with nobody in between.
Do I have to type every address by hand to send orders to the courier?
No. Orders from the site can be downloaded in one file in Steadfast's or Pathao's own format and uploaded straight to the courier's panel. This also removes the mistakes of typing by hand.
