How do I make a Durga Puja greeting banner or a Sharodiya poster on my phone?
Write three things in Bangla: who the greeting is from, the exact words, and where it will go. Everything from "Sharodiya Shubhechha" to your shop or club name is set in a real Bengali font, so the spelling stays whole. The AI will not draw the goddess: give your own photo of the mandap's pratima, or the poster is built from kash flowers and dhak drums. Then download the PNG.
Three steps to a puja poster
- Write the greeting and the name: Which moment (Mahalaya, the Durgotsav, Bijoya), the exact greeting line, and who it is from. For a mandap schedule, type each day's times yourself.
- Change the colours and pattern: When the poster appears, say in the chat: "make the border red", "put the name small at the bottom", "lighten the kash flowers". One change at a time is quickest.
- Download the PNG and send it: Press the download button and the picture lands on your phone. Post it on Facebook, send it to customers on WhatsApp, or take it to a press for a banner.
Durga Puja 2026: when each poster goes out
In Bangladesh this year Mahalaya falls on Saturday 10 October. The mandaps celebrate from Maha Shashthi on 17 October to Bijoya Dashami on 21 October, and the public holidays are 20 and 21 October. Some panjikas put Shashthi a day earlier, so check your priest's panjika before printing a mandap schedule.
A late greeting does little. "Shubho Mahalaya" on Mahalaya, "Sharodiya Shubhechha" the day before Shashthi, "Shubho Bijoya" on the evening of Dashami: make all three now and keep them on your phone, then just post each on its day.
What to write on a Sharodiya greeting poster
- One big line. "Sharodiya Shubhechha", "Shubho Sharodiya" or "Warm wishes for the Sharodiya Durgotsav". Put all three on and none of them looks big.
- Who it is from. The shop, office, club or puja committee name at the bottom, with a small logo. For the owner's or president's name, type it yourself with the title.
- A one-line wish, if you like. For a shloka or mantra, type it exactly from your own book; do not ask the AI to write one from memory.
- An offer goes on its own poster. A greeting beside "20% off for Puja" reads like an advert. Make a separate poster for the offer.
The goddess on a puja poster: your own photo, or only a pattern
Picture models often get the pratima wrong: the number of hands, the weapons, the mount or the face come out jumbled. To a devotee that is disrespect, so this poster does not have the AI draw the goddess.
There are two easy ways. Take a clear photo of your mandap's pratima yourself, with the committee's permission, and give it to the builder; the words sit beside or below it. Or go without a figure: kash flowers, a dhak, a lamp, a conch or a red-bordered pattern, which the AI can make well as a text-free background.
Sizes for Durga Puja banners and posters
- Facebook post: square, 1:1. The safest shape for customer groups too.
- Story and WhatsApp status: tall, 9:16. Ask for the "Shubho Bijoya" line in the middle; the phone's buttons sit at the top and bottom.
- Mandap notice board: A4 or A3 for printing, upright. Keep the schedule letters large; people read it from a distance in a crowd.
- Gate or street banner: give the size in feet, like "10 feet wide, 3 feet high". Ask the print shop how many pixels they need. The rest about wide shapes is on the banner page.
The mandap schedule poster: times from your panjika
The committee's most useful poster is the day-by-day schedule: Bodhon, Anjali, Sandhi Puja, the arati contest, the cultural evenings and the immersion. Type each day and time yourself; the builder will not invent a time you did not give.
After downloading, have the priest read the times once. A wrong Anjali time on print brings people at the wrong hour in the morning. If the schedule changes, say on the same poster "change Saptami's arati time" and a new version appears.
Kali Puja and Saraswati Puja posters work the same way
After Durga Puja comes Kali Puja in early November, and Saraswati Puja on the bright fifth of Magh, between late January and mid February. For a school or college Saraswati Puja invitation, write the institution, the day, and the times for Anjali and prasad; yellow and white are this puja's colours. Take the day from that year's panjika.
What a puja poster costs
