Which hosting plan should you choose? It depends on your shop

The short answer

Which hosting plan should I take for my website, and what does each plan give?

Publishing for free keeps a site live. Hosting is for your own domain and for receiving form submissions. The one-time ৳6,999 gives your own domain, HTTPS and 25 submissions a day, no monthly bill. Business, ৳14,499: 100 a day, up to 50 pages and blog posts, your own code, inbox CSV, app data in the cloud. Commerce, ৳23,999: 500 a day, SMS to customers, auto-reply, courier file.

First decide what the site will do

Choosing a plan is not really a question of price, it is a question of work.

One site can be only for showing: this is us, this is our work, call this number. Another site is for working: orders come in, information is stored, customers get notified.

The first costs almost nothing. The second has a cost, because something happens there every day.

How far free publishing goes

After you build a site you can publish it in one tap, and it costs no money. The address is your-name.banglacodes.app, up to three sites at once.

What you get: the site can be seen, pages work (5 per site), pictures load, the WhatsApp button opens a chat, it installs on the phone's home screen, you can build a real Android app (.apk, .aab), an app built for offline use runs without internet, and outside scripts and the cart work too. The site never expires.

What does not happen: the address is not on a domain you bought, a small badge sits at the bottom, and no information is stored from the site's forms.

For many small businesses this much is enough, especially if orders come in on WhatsApp. You need hosting only when you want the address in your own name or really want to keep what the forms collect.

When you must have hosting

If either of two things happens:

  • You want to keep the site on your own domain. Your own name on the business card, not someone else's. The whole job of buying and connecting a domain is written separately.
  • You want to take orders or applications from a form. This is the most common reason.

If you need neither, there is no hurry to take hosting. And if you only want to remove the badge at the bottom, you do not need hosting: it goes away with any purchase, even the ৳199 Token pack.

On every plan the price is one time, with no monthly or yearly bill. The post on the cost of a website compares five years of this against hosting rented by the year. The yearly rent of the domain is not included in this, you pay that where you bought it.

Which is yours

One-time hosting is enough if the site is mainly to introduce your business: the shop's address, samples of work, a contact form. If a few messages come in a day, it is hard even to reach this limit of 25.

You need Business when you need more than 15 pages or orders are growing. Every plan can add pages and blog posts from the dashboard (5 on free, 15 with one-time hosting); Business raises that to 50, so it suits a site that gets new writing regularly. The inbox CSV for Excel and your own bKash Merchant or SSLCommerz link button also start here.

And if the site comes with an accounts, stock or attendance app, then the biggest reason for Business is cloud data: without it the app's records stay on the phone where they were written, and with it on, the same records open from any phone with a passcode.

You need Commerce when you are really handling orders. SMS to the customer, an auto-reply the moment a form is filled, and the courier file: all three are the work of handling orders, not of showing. SMS goes up to 200 a day and auto-replies up to 20 a day.

If in doubt, start small. Going from Business to Commerce does not mean paying the whole price again, only the difference.

What the daily limits really are

"25 submissions a day" means that for that day, after 25 the form will not take more. The next day it starts fresh.

There is a reason to keep this in mind: if an Eid offer or a post suddenly spreads, you can hit the limit in one day. The dashboard shows a warning when you reach eighty percent of the limit, so you feel the bump early.

The email limit is separate, and it counts only the alerts sent to you. Even if it is passed, the submissions stay in the inbox, you just stop getting an email for each one.

The question of expiry is not for today's buyer

The hosting you take today is for life. A one-time price means a one-time price, and you do not pay a second time to keep the site live.

The expiry arrangement exists for people who took it under the old yearly rule. There, when the period ends the site does not stop at once: you are told first, then there is a period of 14 days, and if you fix it within that time you lose nothing.

If that period also passes, your own domain is taken off, but the site is not deleted, and it keeps running at the free your-name.banglacodes.app address. Your work, pictures and writing all remain.

What no plan has

We need to be honest, because it is better to know this early.

The site is static, which means PHP or MySQL do not run there. WordPress plugins do not fit here. Nor does any heavy server program. Running your own database and keeping app data in the cloud are not the same thing: the second is in Business, the first is in no plan.

What does fit is code inside the page, forms, outside payment links, and embed code for other services, such as a chat box or analytics.

Questions and answers

Do I have to pay for hosting every year? No, the price is one time. There is no other bill to keep the site live. Only the domain's rent has to be paid every year, and that goes to the domain company, not to us.

Can I just publish for free and carry on? In many cases you can. The site really stays live at your-name.banglacodes.app and shows up on Google too. For a business, one thing holds it back: no information is stored from the site's forms. For a site where orders are supposed to come, that is the main job. If you want to put your own bought domain on it, you need hosting too.

Do I pay the full amount again to go from Business to Commerce? No, only the difference between the two plans. So starting small and growing when you need to is safe, and it is the right path for most people.

What happens when I pass the daily limit? For that day the form will not take new information, and the next day it is normal again. Near the limit a warning comes on the dashboard, so you know beforehand.

Can one plan run more than one site? Hosting is separate for each site, because each has its own domain and its own limits. You can build as many sites as you like in one account, but a free account can have three published at once. And for a site that needs form submissions or your own bought domain, you need hosting.

Which plan do I need to take payments? None. Add your numbers in the site manager's "bKash, Nagad and Rocket numbers" section and a payment box with a TrxID field appears in the order form, free on every plan (how, in this post). For your own bKash Merchant or SSLCommerz link as a button you need Business or above. Either way the money does not pass through our hands, it goes straight to you.

Is building a site the same cost as hosting? No. Building costs Token, and if you build on a free Model even that is not needed. Hosting is separate, and it is needed only when you want to keep the site on your own domain or take information in forms.

What if I change my mind after paying? Once hosting is switched on, you cannot step down to a smaller plan, so before you take the bigger one think whether you really need it. This is exactly why we suggest starting small.

In short

  • A site published for free works fully: install, Android app (the first one free), offline use for apps built to work offline, and the cart, all of it. What you do not get is your own bought domain and form submissions
  • Hosting is needed for two reasons: your own domain and form submissions. Removing the badge does not need hosting, any purchase is enough
  • The one-time ৳6,999 is enough for a simple business profile site
  • You need Business for more than 15 pages, your own code, the inbox CSV, your own gateway's payment link and keeping app data in the cloud
  • You need Commerce for SMS, auto-reply and the courier file
  • Start small, and going bigger costs only the difference
  • Today's hosting is for life; under the old yearly rule the site was not deleted, it kept running at the free address
