Building a website and hosting: cost, domain and updating it yourself
'How much does a website cost' has no one-line answer, because the cost comes from four places: the domain, hosting, the fee for building it, and the bill for every small change afterwards. The last one grows the biggest over the years, and it is the one that is never written in the quotation.
The posts on this page separate those four costs: an honest five-year calculation, whether you can build a site without knowing code at all, the whole job from buying a domain to connecting it to your site, which hosting fits which size of shop, putting the site on your phone's home screen like an app, and going back to the earlier version when something goes wrong.
Start with the hub post, which has the whole cost picture in one table. If you are coming from WordPress, there is a separate post for you: what changes and what you will not lose.
Every post on this subject
- What does it cost to build a website? The full yearly cost (hub): Domain, hosting, build fee and the cost nobody mentions first. All four put together, an honest five-year count.
- An Android app from your site: .apk and .aab, the first one free: An .apk for WhatsApp and an .aab for the Play Store, from your live site in one tap, the first one free. Who it helps, steps, cost, updates.
- A good-looking site from the first build: you pick the style and colours: If you pick the style and colours first, an AI-built site does not come out plain. Which style suits whom, and what you get every time.
- How far the free plan goes, and exactly when you pay: How much is free each day, which jobs finish for free, and exactly where you start paying. Plain arithmetic.
- What a domain costs, and how to connect it to your site: Where to buy, whose name it should be in, what a CNAME is, and what to check if verification gets stuck.
- Which hosting plan should you choose? It depends on your shop: How far free publishing goes, when you need hosting, and what each of the three plans adds.
- One link in your Facebook page bio, with everything under it: A bio takes only one link. The easiest way to lay everything out under that one link.
- Going back when something goes wrong, and bringing back a deleted app: 20 versions, 30 days to bring an app back, and your own backup. The system that lets you make changes without fear.
- Blog posts and new pages on your own site, without knowing HTML: The place to write pages and blog posts is in the site manager. No code, and no need to go back to the builder.
- Coming from WordPress? What changes and what you will not lose: No plugins, no updates, no fear of being hacked. In exchange, you move your writing over yourself.
- Put your site on the phone home screen like an app: An icon on the home screen, opens full screen, no download. If you want a real app file or the Play Store, you can build an Android app too, the first one free.
- You no longer have to phone a developer to change a price or a photo: The real cost of a website is not building it but changing it. What small self-made changes save over a year, and which ones you can do yourself.
- Hire a developer or build it yourself: how to decide: Which job belongs to whom, where the cost of changes hides, and the ownership mistake that becomes expensive later.
- How to build a website without coding, step by step: An honest picture of building a site with AI: what it can do, what it cannot, and the steps from start to publishing.
Questions and answers
Can you really build a website without knowing how to code?
Yes. Tell the AI what you want in your own words and it builds the whole site, and later changing text, prices or photos is like typing into form fields. What you cannot do yourself is server code, such as PHP or a database, and this kind of hosting does not run those anyway.
Are a domain and hosting the same thing?
No. The domain is the address, which you pay rent for every year, such as aiinbangla.com. Hosting is the place where the site's files are kept and from which it reaches people's phones. You can buy a domain anywhere and connect it to any hosting.
After the site is built, do I have to call a developer every time I want a small change?
No. From the site manager you can change text, prices, phone numbers and photos yourself, without AI, and when you save, the change goes live on the site. If you make a mistake, you can go back to the earlier version.
