The cost nobody mentions first
When you talk about building a site, everyone quotes one number: we will build it for this much. Hearing the number, it feels like the work is finished.
It is not finished. Building a site is a one-time job, and changing a site goes on all year.
You will put out an offer for Eid, and it has to be written. A saree's price went from 1,250 to 1,350, and it has to be changed. You took photos of a new product, and they have to go up. Your phone number changed, and it has to be fixed.
If you have to phone someone for every one of these changes, two things get spent: money, and time.
The market rate for a small change
In Dhaka, a small change usually costs 500 to 1,500 taka. Twelve small changes a year is very normal, and for many people it is more.
| What you are changing | How often a year (usually) |
| Prices | 3 to 6 times |
| Product photos | 4 to 12 times |
| Offers or announcements | 5 to 15 times |
| Phone, address, opening hours | 1 to 2 times |
Say twelve changes a year, 800 taka each. That is 9,600 taka a year, just for changing text and photos. Over five years, 48,000.
And a bigger cost than the money is the waiting. The developer is busy and will do it in two days. By then the offer is over.
The second problem: selling at the wrong price
This waiting has a price that nobody counts.
The site says 1,250 taka, and the shop price is now 1,350. A customer sees the site and phones, and you tell them the price has gone up. The customer is annoyed. Some do not phone at all.
When a site shows old information, it does not only look untidy. It hurts the business.
What you can change yourself
This is where a site built with AI is different. After you build a site on BanglaCodes, there is a page called Manage site, and the parts of the site are laid out in separate boxes there. Type in a box and tap Save, and it goes live on the site.
What you can change:
- Text, meaning headings, paragraphs and list points
- Prices, for each product separately
- Photos, just pick one from your phone and it uploads and takes its place
- The logo and the small icon on the browser tab
- The site colour, change one and it changes everywhere at once
- Button text, and where a button goes when tapped
- The phone number, and when you change it, the number on the WhatsApp button changes too
For none of this do you have to tell the AI anything, so no Token are spent either.
What if you make a mistake?
This is the real question, because many people do not touch anything for fear of making a mistake.
Each time you save, the earlier state is kept, the last 20. Tap "Restore earlier state" and you can go back to any of them. And the state you left is also kept, so you can go back and then return again.
So the risk of touching things is gone. That is what lets people touch them.
What you still have to ask the AI for
Honesty matters here: not every change works this way.
Adding a new section, changing the design of a whole page, putting in a new kind of form: these still have to be done by telling the builder in plain words, and they cost Token.
In broad terms the split is this: changing what is there, you do yourself. Making something new, you do with AI.
Almost all of the everyday work falls in the first part.
Where to start
If you already have a site built, look in the left sidebar for the "Manage site/App" button, just below Top-up. In the app list, each site's card also has a "Manage" button.
What is in each tab is written step by step in the site management guide. The part about changing photos is separate, here.
Questions and answers
Is there a risk of breaking the site by changing it myself? The boxes change only text and photos, and the design code is not touched. On top of that, each save keeps the earlier state, so if you slip you can go back in one tap.
Do I have to Publish again after changing? No. Tap Save and it goes live on the site. It can take about a minute for the change to show, the same on the free address and on your own domain.
Can I change things from a phone? Yes. The page works on a phone too, and when you tap a photo box the phone's gallery opens, and if you pick from there it uploads and takes its place. This is the most useful part for changing a price while sitting in the shop.
How many earlier states are kept? The last 20. You can go back to any one, and the state you left is kept too, so you can go back and then return again.
What if I want to add a new section or page? That is not this page's job. You do it by telling the builder in plain words, and it costs Token. The split is easy to remember: changing what is there, you do yourself. Making something new, you do with AI.
Will it take time to show up in Google again after I change the text? The change takes effect on the site straight away, but when Google reads it again is Google's decision. So for things like prices or offers, the real job is keeping the site correct, and when search changes is a matter of waiting.
