- Give the list of names: The class, batch or office and the people to mark, with roll numbers if you have them. Add the weekly day off too.
- Tick every day: Open the app and press present or absent beside each name for today. The buttons are big, so one hand does it standing in class.
- Take the monthly summary: Pick the month and see each person's total and percentage. Download the CSV to open in Excel, print it or send it on.
The trouble with a paper register
A paper register means ruling lines, counting each person's boxes at the end of the month, and when the book stays at home, noting the day on a scrap and copying it in later. A torn or wet page takes the whole month with it.
In the attendance app the daily job takes a minute: a tick beside each name. Adding up, percentages and the monthly summary are done by the app.

Student and staff attendance, in the same app
The builder's card is called "Attendance register", and it serves both. For a school, madrasa or coaching centre, give student names and rolls; for a shop, workshop or office, give staff names and say it is for staff, and the wording follows. With several classes or sections, ask for a class picker at the top.
Things worth saying at the start: the weekly day off, the date your month starts on, and whether a roll or job title sits beside each name. Asking for one change at a time gives better results.
Where the register's data lives, and using it on several phones
Normally the ticks stay in the browser of the phone you ticked on. Another teacher or manager opening the same link on their phone sees an empty register, and clearing browser data or losing the phone loses the record. So take attendance from one phone and download a CSV once a week.
For several people to see and tick the same register from their own phones, you need cloud data, which is on the Business and Commerce plans only. Turn it on with a passcode, tell the builder "keep the records in the cloud", then Publish again; anyone with the passcode can see and change the record. What the attendance app is not
- Not a fingerprint or card biometric machine; a person does the ticking
- Not a system where staff mark their own attendance from their phones
- No salary deductions or overtime in this card; for a pay book, make a separate accounts app
- It does not send absence SMS to parents
Good register habits, in the app as on paper
- Take attendance at the same time every day, in the first five minutes of class
- Decide beforehand how a late arrival is marked, and keep one rule for everyone
- Tick nobody on a holiday, so the percentages stay right
- At month end, download the CSV and name the file with the class and month, like Eight A January
Questions about attendance registers
Is the attendance register app free?
Building it is free: the app is made from free AI Token, up to 400,000 a day. After that, daily ticks and the monthly summary use no Token. For one register on several phones, cloud data needs the Business or Commerce plan.
Can I get the attendance register as an apk?
Yes. Once the app is live you can turn it into an Android app and get an .apk file that installs on a phone; the first app is free. Or put the link on your phone's home screen.
How do I make a staff attendance app?
In the builder, give the staff names and job titles, say it is a staff attendance register and name the day off. The app is laid out that way; you tick each morning yourself.
Can two teachers mark the same register from different phones?
Not normally, because the ticks stay on the phone they were made on. With cloud data on the Business or Commerce plan, and the builder told to use it, everyone sees the same record with a passcode.
If I lose my phone, can I get the attendance back?
Not without cloud data, because the record was on that phone. So download the CSV once a week and keep it in Google Drive or email.
What format should an attendance register have?
Roll and name on the left, the month's dates across the top, present or absent in each box, and the total and percentage on the right. The app shows this summary when you pick a month, and the CSV comes out the same way.
Will it work like a fingerprint attendance machine?
No. It is a register on a phone, and a person does the ticking. It has no link to any biometric machine.
