What a small shop needs most often
If you run a shop, you need an image almost every week.
New stock has come, an Eid offer, closed on Friday, free delivery, prices are down. Each needs an image, and going to a designer every time costs time and money.
The result: most shopkeepers post an image typed on a plain white background, or post nothing.
Say three things and you are done
What the poster is for. An Eid offer, a new product, a closing notice, delivery news.
What the text says. Write the exact words you want yourself. If you leave this to the AI, it makes up its own, and a wrong price or a wrong date gets printed.
Where you will use it. A Facebook post, a story, or a print. The size is decided from this.
When Bangla text has to go on top of the image, say it like this: "Make a cover with this text: Eid offer, 20% off on all three-piece sets, free delivery. In Facebook post size, green and gold colours."
This way of saying it matters, and the reason is in the next part.
Why the size matters
| Where | What size |
| Facebook post | Square |
| Facebook or Instagram story | Tall, upright |
| Facebook page cover | Wide, lying down |
| Printed poster | Paper size, upright |
If you make it in the wrong size, Facebook crops it by itself, and often part of the text is lost in the crop. If the price is cut off, the post is meaningless.
So saying where it will go is the biggest improvement for the smallest cost.
Do not put Bangla text inside the image
The image models of AI cannot draw Bangla letters, and the letters break. So if you ask for an image with Bangla text in it, like "the text should say Eid offer", the system does not even try to make it, and tells you to ask another way.
The other way is: "make a cover with this text". Then the text is placed on the canvas in a real Bangla font, and is not drawn inside the image. This is good on two counts: the spelling stays perfect, and this path is free and is not counted in the day's images.
If the image is only a background, that is, without text, just ask in the ordinary way.
Fix the text yourself
This one point helps more than everything else.
Never let the AI make up these four things: price, date, percentage and phone number. Write them yourself, and check them after the image comes.
The reason is that image-making AI makes mistakes with numbers and Bangla conjunct letters, and a poster with a wrong price is not just embarrassing for a shop, it is harmful: the customer will ask for that price.
After the image comes, check three things letter by letter: price, date and phone number.
If you have to print
An image for the screen and an image for print are not the same thing.
For Facebook, the ordinary free image is enough. If you make it with HD on, the detail comes out cleaner. Each HD image costs 2,500 Token, and that is outside the day's free count. But HD means clean, not big: even an HD image is at most 1,440 pixels on its long side. It works for a small leaflet or sticker, but if you stretch any image to a banner hung in front of the shop, it looks blurry.
So the path for large print is different. In the builder, ask for a poster page at print size, for example "Make a poster page in the size of a 3 feet by 6 feet banner, with this text". The text is set in a real font there, and is not an image, so the letters stay sharp even at a large size. The download button gives you the whole thing as an image.
Before you go to the print shop, ask them what size of file they need, because the requirement differs with the banner size.
Keep one look
If you make a poster in new colours and a new style every time, none of them is remembered.
The simple rule: choose two colours that belong to your shop, and use those same two on every poster. Put the logo in the same place.
Three months later, when people scroll their feed and see your poster, they will know whose it is without reading the name. That being recognised is the brand.
The way to make a logo is in the post on logos, and for what to write on Facebook, see the post on Facebook posts.
Invitation cards are a different thing
Wedding, aqiqah or birthday cards run by different rules, because the names, date and address must be exact. There is a separate post on invitation cards for that.
If you want to make one right now, start from the poster page, and if it is something wide to hang in front of the shop, see the banner page.
If you want to build one yourself, open the mahfil poster page or the Eid poster and card page.
Questions and answers
Do I need to know design to make a poster? No. Just say three things in your own words: what the poster is for, what the text says and where you will use it. The AI does the design work.
Should I let the AI write the price or date? No. Write the price, date, percentage and phone number yourself, and check them letter by letter after the image comes. AI can make mistakes with numbers, and if you post a wrong price, the customer will ask for that price.
What size is right for Facebook? Square for a post, tall and upright for a story. If you say where it will go when making it, the size comes out right, and Facebook does not crop it and cut off the text.
What do I do for printing? For small print, like a leaflet or sticker, make it with HD on, and the detail comes out clean. Each HD image costs 2,500 Token. But even an HD image is at most 1,440 pixels on its long side, and stretched to a big banner it will look blurry. So for large print, make a poster page at print size in the builder and download from there. Ask the print shop first what size of file they need.
How many images can I make a day? Up to 20 on a free account. That is usually enough, because a good poster takes only three or four tries.
Should I design something new every time? Better not to. Choose two colours and keep those same two on all posters, with the logo in the same place. After a few months people will know whose poster it is without reading the name.
Does Bangla text come out right? Bangla drawn inside an image does not come out right, so the system does not even try. If you want something with Bangla text, say "make a cover with this text", and then the text sits on the canvas in a real font, the spelling stays perfect, and this path is free.
Can wedding cards be made this way too? Yes, but the rules are a little different there, because it matters more that the names, date and address are exact. We have a separate post on invitation cards.
In short
- Say three things: what the poster is for, what the text says, where you will use it
- Bangla text does not go inside the image: say "make a cover with this text", which is free and the spelling is perfect
- Write the price, date and number yourself, then check them
- If you say the size, Facebook does not crop the text off
- HD means clean, not big, at 2,500 Token each. For a big banner, use a poster page at print size
- Two colours and the logo in one place, the same every time
- 20 images a day are free, so look at a few and pick
